TiO2, Titanium Oxide. Rutile is a major ore of titanium, which is used for high tech alloys due to it being light weight, high strength and resistance to corrosion. Rutile is also very popular in the gemstone markets as it forms beautiful mineral specimens. It is more commonally found as an inclusion within Quartz.
