Inesite (697)
Inesite is not a common mineral in rock shops nor in mineral displays, but it can form very attractive pink or rose colored specimens that are highly sought after by collectors. Containing manganese it can resemble Rhodochrosite or rhodonite, however crystals of Inesite will show only one steeply slanted face, while the other faces have a much less inclined slant. Rhodochrosite only forms rhombohedrons and Rhodonite lacks any steeply inclined faces and is normally blocky, not prismatic. The name "Inesite" comes from the Greek for "flesh fibres," refering to its colour and habit
